Yattee

Yattee provides a native video player for Apple platforms, allowing users to watch YouTube and other supported sites without using the official YouTube interface. It runs on iOS, tvOS and macOS, offering a SwiftUI‑based UI that can be customized through settings. The player includes a queue, history tracking, and controls for 4K playback, with support for fullscreen, Picture‑in‑Picture, and background audio.

The application integrates SponsorBlock, enabling users to skip selected categories of video segments, and it works with a self‑hosted backend called Yattee Server, which leverages yt‑dlp to fetch content from over a thousand sites. The server can be run locally, giving users control over the data flow and enhancing privacy.

Yattee is released under the AGPL v3 license, and its source code and documentation are publicly available. The project is actively maintained, with a forthcoming version being tested via TestFlight and a roadmap published on its documentation site.
