Choosy
UI, URL API and a browser extension set for managing rules where and how to open links.
Choosy intercepts link‑opening requests on macOS and routes each URL to the most appropriate browser instead of the system default. Users can manually choose a browser from a list of installed or running browsers, or rely on predefined rules that automatically select a target based on the link’s source or content. The application integrates with macOS features such as AirDrop, Handoff, and the Share menu, allowing seamless handling of links across the operating system.
The tool supports browser profiles, enabling selection of specific Chrome, Edge, Brave, or Vivaldi profiles or private windows for individual links. Browser extensions are provided for major browsers, giving a one‑click option to move a page from one browser to another. An URL‑based API is also available, allowing scripts, Terminal commands, or AppleScript to invoke Choosy programmatically.
These capabilities make Choosy useful for users who work with multiple browsers, need to keep certain contexts—e.g., email links in Safari—or want to automate link handling within custom workflows. The software is stable and designed to operate natively on macOS.
