UBOS
Linux distro that runs on indie boxes (personal servers and IoT devices). Single-command installation and management of apps - Jenkins, Mediawiki, Owncloud, WordPress, etc., and other features.
UBOS is a Linux distribution built on a curated subset of Arch Linux, targeting personal servers and IoT devices. It provides a self‑hosted environment where users can install and manage a range of web applications—such as Jenkins, MediaWiki, OwnCloud, and WordPress—through a single command interface. The system includes UBOS Gears, tools that automate deployment and lifecycle management of these server‑side applications on both physical and virtual hardware.
In addition to the application layer, UBOS offers a peer‑to‑peer graph middleware called UBOS PeerGraph, intended for constructing social web platforms. While still under development, this component aims to enable decentralized, user‑centric social interactions. All components are released under the GPL‑3.0 license, emphasizing openness and freedom from subscription or tiered pricing models.
The project is positioned for users who want a stable, open‑source stack that simplifies the operation of personal web services without relying on external hosting, supporting both x86_64 and ARM architectures.
