Wave Terminal
Terminal emulator
Wave Terminal is an open‑source terminal emulator that adds integrated file previews, editing, AI assistance, web browsing, and workspace organization to the command line. It supports macOS, Linux, and Windows, and includes a built‑in SSH manager with WSL support for quickly switching between remote servers and clusters. Users can split screens, arrange terminals, editors, and web views into custom layouts, and navigate directories while previewing markdown, images, audio, video, HTML, and CSV files.
The emulator provides a VSCode‑like GUI editor for remote files, offering syntax highlighting, indentation, mouse interaction, and copy‑paste support. A built‑in web browser lets users access sites such as GitHub and StackOverflow without leaving the terminal. Dashboard widgets can be created with HTML and populated from CLI data, and pre‑built dashboards can be imported or shared.
All data remains stored locally, requiring no login or external account, and the interface can be themed and customized. The project is positioned for developers who want a single, extensible environment that combines traditional terminal tasks with modern productivity features.
