Display file information in Finder contextual menu

Source

The extension integrates with macOS Finder to add a contextual menu that presents detailed metadata for a wide range of file types, including images, video, audio, PDF, Office documents, compressed archives, and folders. When a user right‑clicks a file inside a monitored folder, the extension extracts available properties and builds menu items that display information such as dimensions, duration, codec, author, and size, among other format‑specific data.

Users can configure which folders are monitored and customize the menu layout through the main application. The tool supports scripting for formatting and composing menu items, allowing users to tailor the displayed data to their workflow. All information is gathered before the menu appears, so the extension is designed to operate quickly to avoid delaying the context‑menu display.

The software runs on macOS 10.15 or newer and is distributed as a stable Finder Sync Extension. Installation involves placing the app in the Applications folder, configuring settings, and enabling the extension in System Preferences → Extensions.
